I think most men have been complimented on their skills, personality, fashion choices,etc but they chose to ignore those compliments because they do not come from women they find attractive. I had personal experiences with complementing men and they would look offended that I would even dare to say something nice to them. I also have heard from other men complain that only women they find unattractive compliment them. Apparently, that makes them think that they are ugly themselves if only unattractive women compliment them.
